Song of the Day

… or week.  I’ve been listening to this song on repeat.  It’s amazing.  I had to share with you…

When you look up the lyrics you realize it’s about a guy who chated and wants his lady back (silly boys) but I’m loving the mix (but I was already obsessed with Imogen Heap)

Note: no there aren’t any problems with B and I and he is no cheater!  Just loving the song! shesh! 😉

Words of Wisdom from the Big O

Found this quote in the September issue of Oraph Magazine:

“The secret is alignment: when you know for sure that you’re on course and doing exactly what you’re supposed to be doing, fulfilling your soul’s intention, your heart’s desire, or whatever you choose to call it. When your life is on course with its purpose, you are your most powerful. And you may stumble, but you will not fall.

I know for sure that in every challenging experience there’s an opportunity to grow, enhance your life, or learn something invaluable about yourself. Every challenge can make you stronger if you allow it. Strength multiplied= power.”

Thanks Oprah 😉

Happy Wednesday friends!

Beach Party

beachcupsBetter late then never! A friend had an amazing beach party two weekends ago… full of great decorations, a photo booth and a ton of delicious food! A vegan friend of hers made an amazing pasta salad that I could eat! Vegenaise is something I’m going to have to cook with more (I’m lactose intolerant… aka “lacttard”)! You get the same great taste without the dairy. Anyways, I was hoping to make some cupcakes with umbrellas (got this cute idea from my friend’s Shark Party– think SharkWeek on discovery), however we couldn’t find any umbrellas so I had to improvise. I just used the yellow box cake mix and spent too much time decorating the top. Used graham crackers for the sand, normal vanilla frosting and blue icing for the ocean. Delish!

I believe I can fly

(woo!) because I did! 😀

That was my first try… and this was my last!

Such an amazing experience!  Scary as hell, not even going to lie… but after the first time it just became super exciting!  Definitely check it out if you’re ever on the Santa Monica Pier.  (side note, this was my first time down there in probably about ten years…. so much fun!!)  We finished the evening with cocktails and dinner at Mariasol.  The salmon was delicious!

Also to note… I’ve checked a few more things off of “The List!”

Jon Wilhite= Amazing!

Hi all,

Thanks so much for all of your support regarding my friend Jon Wilhite who survived the crash (Jon refuses to call it an accident) that took three lives, including Angels’ pitcher Nick Adenhart.  I was sent the below event and wanted to share it with all of you.  Unfortunately, I will be out of town (count down to Idaho woohoo) but I would love for some of you in blog land to attend!  Such an amazing thing that they’re doing!  You have the opportunity to save three lives (hello!) and you get TWO free Angels tickets!

Thanks again for all of your support.  I’ve also included a couple of links to videos and interviews that Fox Sports West did on Jon below.  The first link is a must watch.

Angels Baseball partners with UC Irvine Medical Center and the American Red Cross for a blood drive to honor Nick Adenhart

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim

ANAHEIM — Angels Baseball Monday announced the organization is teaming with UC Irvine Medical Center (Orange, CA) and the American Red Cross on Saturday, August 29th and hosting a blood drive to generate and increase the much needed blood supply for patients in need.

The blood drive will take place from 8 AM – 2 PM in the Exhibition Center at Angel Stadium, located next to Gate # 6. Fans who donate will receive two free tickets to a future Angels’ home game. The event will also feature raffle prizes, including autographed Angels’ merchandise.

Individuals interested in participating are encouraged to make an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-GIVE LIFE The blood drive is being dedicated to honor the memory of Angels’ pitcher Nick Adenhart, the victim of a fatal automobile accident in Fullerton, CA last April 9th. Two others, Henry Pearson and Courtney Stewart were also killed in the accident.

Jon Wilhite, the lone survivor of the accident was treated by doctors at UC Irvine Medical Center and will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at that evening’s Angels game vs. Oakland at 6:05 PM.

UC Irvine Medical Center is Orange County’s only university research hospital, Level I trauma center, American College of Surgeons-verified regional burn center and National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center. It offers acute- and general-care service at its new 482,000-square-foot UC Irvine Douglas Hospital.

The American Red Cross Blood Services benefits the local healthcare community and helps fulfill the mission of the Red Cross. Blood drives help provide a safe blood supply for people with serious medical needs.

Jon would like us all to say a “thank you to his three Angels”, Nick, Courtney and Henry who he knows assisted in him in being here today, and as they continue to help him everyday, in rehabilitation.  He also appreciates the thoughts and prayers for the families of Henry, Courtney and Nick as they deal with their horrific loses. Thanks again and I hope you all have a blessed week.

 Thanks again,
