Life Update

Oh my there is much to share. A month ago I was in Idaho with B and his family. I had the most amazing 9 day vacation I’ve ever had (I will share pictures when *ahem* someone uploads them off of his camera). We shot guns, we played on ATVs, we hiked, we floated down the river, we wake boarded, we cliff jumped and we tubed… I believe I’m missing something. Like I said, we did everything! While being there I started getting anxiety about having to go back to work. On the plane I looked at B and said “I really… really do NOT want to go back, I hate that place.” I’ve been saying this for a long, long time. He smiled and said “Well, do something about it… pplleeaasseee.” Translation “I’m so tired of hearing you b*tch.” I’ve been blessed to have amazing coworkers and truly that is the only reason that I lasted there so long. I came home from work Monday night in tears. Had a cocktail with my family and went on a huge tyrant about how miserable I was. My dad asked what I wanted to do… “Law school” was what I said… his response was “Finally.” I signed up for the LSAT and for a test prep course the next day. I spoke with my boss and asked if I could leave 15 minutes early on Tuesdays…. I said I would come in an hour early and work through lunch… in a word or less (and trust me… there were words) she said no. After the weekend, with the support of my family and B, I gave my two week notice. I then went into panic mode trying to figure out a job and medical insurance. Honestly, I didn’t sleep for about four days. I hate when I let my nerves get the best of me…. well, this past Monday I was approved for my health insurance (and I’m only paying about $25 more a month than I was when my work was providing it), then on Tuesday I GOT A JOB! I’m now officially a personal assistant. Today was my first day on set. It was crazy, hectic and exciting… so neat to see different things. So now, I’m in “the industry,” have my own health insurance and am studying for the LSAT. Great things are happening and I feel SO blessed!

face cake!

face cake!

Face cake!!

Also, Wednesday night CB threw a Going Away Party. I was BLOW AWAY. Truly, it was so amazing… a great amount of people showed up and there was face cake! Fittingly, it said “We’ll miss you bitch” ha… aren’t they sweet!? CB insisted on eating my face and I begged for the “Bitch.” So goodbye nasty job and nasty people, hello new gig and new great people. Though, I am not going to lie… my life is not the same without CB 24/7… le sigh.

Life update will be coming, I promise.  Thursday afternoon or Friday… I have some exciting new things to share!  Until then, I leave you with the following:

They call it the “Quarter-life Crisis.”
It is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing
that there are many things about yourself that you didn’t know and may
not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a
year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are

You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those
friends that you thought you were so close to aren’t exactly the
greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch
with are some of the most important ones. What you don’t recognize is
that they are realizing that too, and aren’t really cold, catty, mean
or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.

You look at your job… and it is not even close to what you thought
you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing
that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.
Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and
find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize
that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly
adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn’t. One
minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure. You laugh and cry
with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and

Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past
with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and
further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or
move forward.

You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do
such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can’t meet
anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you
love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you
are doing this because you know that you aren’t a bad person. One
night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted
and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic.

You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk
with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to
make a decision. You worry about loans, money, the future and making a
life for yourself… and while winning the race would be great, right
now you’d just like to be a contender!

What you may not realize is that everyone reading this relates to it.
We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as
we can to figure this whole thing out.

only reward is that it’s easy.” – Anonymous

Note: the above actually was sent to me by my boyfriend’s ex girlfriend.  She had I had (obviously) a rocky relationship but have now have grown a friendship.  It goes to show that you truly should open your heart to anyone, you’d be so amazed at the places that you can find a great friend.

I wasn’t able to watch the show… but I’ve done a decent amount of snooping today to see what everyone was wearing.  Kate Walsh, you win.  May I borrow please?  Thanks.

Happy Birthday, Love the BF

I know, I know… I’ll update shortly (I’ll be unemployed in two weeks from today and will be able to update more then and fill you in on the life altering decision I made…) But for now,

The BDay is on Sunday and it has TOTALLY surprised me this year. I’m a big birthday person (read: only child), so usually I get super excited and plan something ahead of time. Due to above mentioned life-altering decision (LAD), it’s truly just crept up on me. I have an endoscopy on Friday (yikes) and they boyfriend is going out of town this weekend for the Ohio State vs. USC (Go Trojans!!!!) game. I was planned to go… but above LAD is now taking up my weekends. Anyways, he sent me the following from SomeeCards

iPhone Augmented Reality

SO much to fill you all in on, but I just returned from an amazing vacation in Idaho and am slammed with catching up.  For the time being, check out this awesome app that Apple will be launching sometime this month (thanks BL!)

Apple won’t let you use cool augmented reality iPhone apps — yet

July 24, 2009 |  2:53 pm
A concept video for an identification app, called Augmented ID, that uses facial recognition.

IPhone owners are excited to get their hands on the augmented reality applications that we wrote about last week, such as the one for finding nearby subways or for tracking down Twitter neighbors.

But Apple is telling developers that it won’t make them publicly available on the App Store until September.

Augmented reality is a mesmerizing software breed that overlays useful info onto a real-world view using the iPhone’s camera. Because it relies heavily on the compass — in addition to other smart-phone features such as the GPS and Internet connection — only users of the new iPhone 3GS will be able to install them.

As reader Anthony Hocken pointed out in the comments on our last post, developers are tapping into an unauthorized tool, called the “camera viewer,” in order to unlock some of the functions needed to make these work.

Apple told Acrossair, developer of the Nearest Tube train finder, that the app will be approved for distribution after Apple releases version 3.1 of the iPhone software, which the developer expects will land in early September.

“We have the app working on 3.0 already,” wrote Acrossair Director Chetan Damani in an e-mail. “On 3.1, we have a few extra bits that allow us to show full-screen video.”

Meanwhile, developers are busy thinking up all kinds of wild uses for the technology.

The coolest we’ve seen recently is a concept video for something called Augmented ID (video at the top). The hypothetical software uses facial recognition to identify people and then display links to their social network profiles around the Web.

It’s really cool, but it’s no bikini app. Are there any ideas more ridiculous than that one?
